Orthopedic Treatments

What is Orthopedic Treatment?

Orthopedic treatments are medical interventions aimed at addressing conditions and injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. These treatments range from non-surgical methods, such as physical therapy, medications, and orthotic devices, to surgical procedures like joint replacement, arthroscopy, and fracture repair. The goal of orthopedic treatments is to restore function, improve mobility, and alleviate pain, enabling patients to return to their daily activities and improve their quality of life.

Knee Replacement Total or Partial

Total knee replacement involves removing damaged bone and cartilage from the thighbone, shinbone, and kneecap, replacing it with an artificial joint. Partial knee replacement involves only the damaged portion of the knee.

Ankle Fusion/ Arthrodesis

Surgically joining ankle bones to relieve pain and improve stability in cases where arthritis has severely damaged the joint.

Shoulder Rotator Cuff Repair

Repair of torn tendons in the shoulder's rotator cuff, either through open surgery, arthroscopy, or a mini-open repair.

ACL Repair

Reconstruction or repair of a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee, often using a graft from another tendon in the body.

Limb Lengthening

This involves cutting the bone and slowly distracting (pulling apart) the ends over time, allowing new bone to form in the gap. This can be done using external fixators or internal devices like telescopic rods.

Spine Disc Degeneration

Disc degeneration causes spinal pain & stiffness. Treatments include physical therapy, medication, & surgery for severe cases. Seek comprehensive care for relief.

Orthopaedic Treatment & Surgery

Hip Replacement Partial or Total

This surgery involves replacing the damaged hip joint with an artificial implant. Total hip replacement replaces both the acetabulum and the femoral head, while partial replacement might only involve the femoral side.

Scoliosis Deformity Correction

Surgical procedure to correct the abnormal curvature of the spine seen in scoliosis, often involving spinal fusion and the placement of rods and screws to hold the spine straight.

Herniated Discs Spine Surgery

Surgery to remove or repair a herniated disc that is pressing on nerve roots or the spinal cord, which may include discectomy, laminectomy, or fusion.

Total Shoulder Replacement Arthroplasty

Replacing the damaged parts of the shoulder joint with artificial components to restore joint function and relieve pain.

Shoulder Bankart Procedure

Surgical repair of a Bankart lesion, which is a tear in the labrum of the shoulder joint, typically caused by dislocation.
